  • NOTICE TO OCEANPORT AND SEA BRIGHT RESIDENTS on JANUARY 10, 2020

      NEW BOARD VACANCY

    Please take notice that due to the January 8, 2020 Board of Education acceptance of the resignation of a Board of Education member, there is currently a new vacancy on the Oceanport Board of Education. The vacant seat is for a one (1) year term, followed by a Board of Education election on November 3, 2020 for a two (2) year unexpired term.

    The members of the Board will appoint an applicant to fill this seat at its Committee of the Whole Meeting on February 19, 2020.  Interested members of the public are encouraged to apply by e-mailing your letter of interest to Valery Petrone, School Business Administrator / School Board Secretary:

    All applications must be received no later than Friday, February 7, 2020 at 3:00pm. 

    Please note that previous applicants are welcome to reapply for this vacancy.

    To be seated on the Board, the successful applicant must be a citizen of the United States, must have been a resident of Oceanport or Sea Bright for no less than one (1) year, must be able to read and write English, must be registered to vote and not disqualified as a voter, and cannot currently hold office as mayor or a member of the governing body of Oceanport or Sea Bright, or hold other elective office in New Jersey.

    The Board will review letters of interest and interview candidates, and make an appointment within 65 days of the vacancy.
